How to Enable Hot Link Protection in Cpanel

Today we are going to see about how to enable hot link protection for your website through cPanel.
What is Hotlink Protection :
Hot link protection prevents other websites from directly linking to files and pictures on your website. Other sites will only be able to link to file types that you don’t specify.
An example of hotlinking would be using a <img> tag to display an image from your site from somewhere else on the net. The end result is that the other site is stealing your bandwidth. List all sites below from which you wish to allow direct links. This system attempts to add all sites it knows you own to the list; however, you may need to add others.
How to Enable Hotlink Protection :
Step 1 : Login to your cPanel.
Step 2 : Once logged into your cPanel, You can find “Hotlink Protection ” under security or search Hotlink Protection on the search bar.
Step 3 : By default It is disabled, But click “Enable” option to enable the hotlink protection for your website.
Step 4 : Additionally you add the particular URL on Configure Hotlink Protection option.
Step 5 : And also you can specify particular file extensions like JPEG, PNG to block direct access.
Step 6 : You must select the “Allow direct requests” checkbox when you use hotlink protection for files that you want visitors to view in QuickTime
Step 7 : You can Skip Redirect the request to the following URL and Click the “Submit” option to save the changes.
