MIGRATING CPANEL WEBSITE FROM ONE SERVER TO ANOTHER

Backup is essential that you always backup your important files and have a plan for recovering from a system faulire or files infected etc.

In this blog we are going to see how to take a backup of your cPanel website and restore it.

Steps to Take Backup From CPANEL :

Step 1:

Login into your cPanel, There you can see the option “Backup”. Just navigate into it.

Step 2:

Under full Backup section, click the the button “Download a Full Website Backup” to check the available backups for your wbsite.

Step 3:

If you don’t have generated backup already, Don’t need to cry. You can generated a fresh backup.Choose your backup destination and click “Generate Backup”.

Giving your mail ID is optional , If you are a multi task man for getting notification of backup completion.

Step 4:

Once you generated backup you can move your backup file to your website path.Eg : yourdomain.com/backupfile.

Steps to Restore Backup :

Step 1:

You need donwload your backup file through SSH terminal using the below command.

#wget yourdomain.com/backupfile.

Donwload location is your server home directory.

Step 2:

Once downloaded, login your WHM and select “Restore a Full Backup/cpmove File”.

Step 3:

Select the “Transfer Method” to Restore with Username.And then select the username and click Restore.It will take some to time to restore your website, Be patience until then.
